Urgo Optiskin Transparent Dressing was developed for the protection of superficial wounds, surgical incisions, sutures, and medical devices, such as puncture sites. It is indicated for people who need a discreet, comfortable, and water-resistant dressing, suitable even for sensitive skin. The transparent polyurethane backing acts as a barrier against the entry of water, bacteria, and other external impurities, reducing the risk of wound contamination. At the same time, its semi-permeable structure allows the passage of water vapor and oxygen, helping to maintain an environment conducive to healing and reducing the risk of skin maceration. The transparency of the dressing allows easy observation of the dressing and monitoring of wound healing without removing the dressing, reducing unnecessary manipulation. The central dressing has a non-adherent mesh that prevents adhesion to the wound, making removal more comfortable and minimizing trauma to healing tissues.
Carefully clean the wound, disinfect, rinse if necessary, and thoroughly dry the surrounding skin. Open the individual package and apply the dressing without applying tension to the adhesive film, carefully pressing the edges to ensure good adhesion. The dressing can remain in place for up to 7 days, provided it remains intact and the wound shows no signs of infection or excessive exudate. Regularly check the condition of the wound and replace the dressing whenever necessary. It is intended for single use only and should not be reused or resterilized.
Do not use on infected wounds, wounds with active bleeding, wounds with abundant exudate, or at central venous catheter puncture sites. Discontinue use if signs of skin irritation or infection appear, such as intense redness, pain, swelling, odor, or abnormal discharge. Use only if the individual packaging is intact.
